Onion and Apple Chutney
Chutney is much easier to make then you would think, this recipe has a bit of a kick and is perfect as an accompaniment to any meal especially an Indian style one.
- Chop the apple, removing the core and pips leaving the skin on and place into a bowl with the lemon juice, stir and leave to stand.
- Peel and chop the onion into small cubes.
- Into a frying pan heat the oil and add the turmeric, garlic, chilli, curry and mustard powder, stir well together.
- Add the onion, sultanas and apple, mix together and cook on a medium heat for 10 minutes, then lower the heat and simmer until soft.
- Serve hot or cold.
